order 83 (hamburger, no bun, no patty) c / Field research and photo story into the illogical logic often found in systems of automation and computational thinking.

'No plan survives first contact with the enemy'.
- Prussian military commander Helmuth van Moltke

McDonald's is the world's largest restaurant chain by revenue, serving over 69 million customers daily in over 100 countries across approximately 36,900 outlets. In early 2018 they began a programme of replacing a human-to-human ordering system with an automated human-to-machine system. This system processes millions of orders a day in thousands of locations and yet, like many systems of automation based upon computational logic rather than rational logic, it has been actively deployed with distinct cracks in its logic that allow real-world chaos in.
